All you have to do is long press the message -> tap on the &#8216;trash&#8217; icon that appears above the page -> and select &#8216;Delete for Everyone&#8217;.  If you are doing this within a specified time, WhatsApp will replace the message with the recipient&#8217;s banner &#8216;This message has been deleted&#8217;.  That said, the feature is not foolproof.  There are workarounds with which recipients can view and read deleted WhatsApp messages.  Unfortunately, you cannot read deleted WhatsApp messages on iPhone yet.  If you have an Android mobile phone, here is how to view deleted WhatsApp messages with\/without installing any third-party app.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"td_quote_box td_box_center bgbock\"><p>WhatsApp allows you to delete messages up to 13 hours, 8 minutes and 16 seconds after sending.  After that, the option will be disabled and you will only be able to delete messages for yourself \u2013 the recipient will still be able to read, copy and forward the message.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_to_see_deleted_WhatsApp_messages_on_Android_without_any_app\"\/>How to View Deleted WhatsApp Messages on Android Without Any App<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"\/><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">WhatsApp doesn&#8217;t have a built-in feature that allows you to read deleted messages.  However, I<\/span>f you have an Android 11 or later device, you can read deleted WhatsApp messages without installing any app.  The OS comes with a built-in notification history option that can keep a log of all WhatsApp messages, even if they have been deleted by the recipient.  It&#8217;s also completely free to use. You can interact with the notification by tapping it, as if it were in a phone&#8217;s pull-down notification shade.  Like Notisave, the Android 11 Notification History option does not recover media files.  For that follow the &#8216;How to View WhatsApp Media Files&#8217; step given above.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_to_see_deleted_WhatsApp_messages_on_Android_using_a_thirdparty_app\"\/>How to View Deleted WhatsApp Messages on Android Using a Third-Party App<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"\/><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If your device isn&#8217;t running Android 11 or later, you&#8217;ll need to download a third-party app that monitors phone notifications.  It is worth mentioning that a notification must be generated for the app to record a WhatsApp message. Notisave is one of the best options. The Notisave app will require access to read notifications, photos, media and files, and to toggle the auto-start option.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once this is done, the app will start keeping a log of every notification you receive including WhatsApp messages.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">After this, even if the sender deletes the WhatsApp messages, you will still be able to read them through the Notisave app.  However, this does not change the nature of the message on WhatsApp.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Additionally, Notisave gives you the option to reply to messages without leaving the app.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The app also comes in handy for reading notifications you&#8217;ve accidentally swiped through.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Even though you can recover deleted WhatsApp messages, the app has some drawbacks.  If you are using the free version of Notisave app then you have to bear the ads \u2013 the paid version starts from Rs.65 per month.  Also the app can recover messages in plain text only.
