Since then, we have been at the forefront of the development of AI.<\/em>He cited projects in Transformers in 2017, as well as the diffusion model \u2013 a form of neural AI engine \u2013 as being fundamental to \u201cmany generative AI applications\u201d found across the industry.<\/p>\n<p>,<em>We\u2019ve been preparing for this moment since early last year, and you\u2019re going to see a lot more from us over the coming months in three big areas of opportunity: First, larger models.  We published extensively about LaMDA and PaLM, the industry\u2019s largest, most sophisticated models, and extensive work on DeepMind.  In the coming weeks and months, we\u2019ll be making these language models available for people to engage with directly, starting with LaMDA<\/em>Pichai said in opening remarks during Alphabet\u2019s earnings call \u2014 which saw Google report weaker sales as a weak online advertising market led to a 12.2 percent decline in earnings per share.<\/p>\n<p>Describing how the technology will work, Pichai said, \u201cVery soon, people will be able to interact directly with our latest, most powerful language models as companions to discovery in experimental and innovative ways. We (also) developers , will provide new tools and APIs for makers and partners. This will empower them to innovate and build their own applications with AI on top of our language, multimodal and other AI models and discover new possibilities.<\/p>\n<p>Pichai\u2019s clarification comes after CNBC reported last week about Google\u2019s work on a ChatGPT rival named Apprentice Bard.
