It is India&#8217;s first bullet train project, which is under construction and the total cost so far for the project is Rs 36,722.60 crore.  The government plans to conduct trial runs on the Surat-Bilimora section in Gujarat by August 2026, with a view to making the entire section between Ahmedabad and Mumbai fully operational by 2027.<\/p>\n<p>The National High-Speed \u200b\u200bRail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) is working to reduce the timeline of the project.  According to officials, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav is closely monitoring the progress of the project.  The Japanese side is regularly monitoring the development of the project.  Recently, a high-level delegation led by the Special Advisor to the Japanese Prime Minister visited the sites to assess the progress of the project.<\/p>\n<p>The bullet train project will be developed using Japan&#8217;s E5 Shinkansen technology.
