It features a 5-inch 1080p display and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset, support of which was discontinued by the chip maker in 2016.  The chipset was paired with 2GB of RAM. After installing it, users can continue using their smartphones as usual.  Nevertheless, this will be the last upgrade in terms of software support.  If there\u2019s a bug that customers think will be resolved, \u201cit won\u2019t happen anymore\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>From March 2023, the smartphone will start lagging behind in terms of security upgrades.  The company advised consumers to avoid using apps that access critical data after May 2023;  If a critical vulnerability exists that leaves the Fairphone 2 vulnerable, the company said it would be unable to fix it.<\/p>\n<p>Many security-critical apps, such as banking apps, will eventually cause the device to become out of date and stop working.  It\u2019s definitely a few years away, but because it\u2019s app dependent, it\u2019s hard to predict when it might happen.
