Airtel launches 5G in seven cities of Jammu and Kashmir

Airtel 5G network services have been launched in seven cities of Jammu and Kashmir including Samba, Kathua, Udhampur, Akhnoor, Kupwara, Lakhanpur and Khaur. The network was already live in Srinagar. According to Airtel, its 5G services will be available to its users in a phased manner as the company is still building out its network to complete the rollout. Airtel customers using 5G-enabled devices can experience the high-speed Airtel 5G Plus network at no additional cost until the rollout becomes more widespread.

Adarsh ​​Verma, COO, Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh, Bharti Airtel, said, “Customers in these cities can now experience ultrafast networks and enjoy speeds that are 20-30 times faster than the existing 4G speeds.”

Jio 5G launched in six northeastern states

Reliance Jio also announced its True 5G services spread across six Northeast Indian states including Manipur (Imphal), Tripura (Agartala), Meghalaya (Shillong), Mizoram (Aizawl), Arunachal Pradesh (Itanagar), Nagaland (Kohima and Dimapur) . The company also claims to have its true 5G services in every town and taluka of the north-eastern states by December 2023.

After January 27, Jio network users in these six states will be invited to avail Jio Welcome Offer to avail unlimited data at 1 Gbps+ speed at no extra cost.

After the events, Jio spokesperson mentioned that Jio True 5G has reached 191 cities in less than four months since its beta launch.
