PhoneBuff speed-tested the Galaxy S23 Ultra and the iPhone 14 Pro Max to find out which flagship device is faster. The robot launched various events on both smartphones at the same time, and observers timed it. Let’s know the results.
Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra vs Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max Speed Test
As per the tests, the Galaxy S23 Ultra was comparatively faster. The Galaxy S23 Ultra took a slight lead from the very beginning of the tests. On the other hand, the iPhone 14 Pro Max took an unusually long time to launch the Filmora app, adding to the gap between the two devices.
In terms of video processing, Apple smartphones are traditionally much faster than Android solutions. However, in this test, the opening speeds were almost identical. On the other hand, Apple’s flagship device fared better when opening Google Trends and launching a game. It consistently outperformed Samsung devices in these areas. As a result, the smartphones reached the finals of the first round with only a slight advantage in favor of the Samsung flagship.
In the second round, smartphones launched apps at a similar pace. When it comes to gaming, the Galaxy S23 Ultra requires two swipes to kick off gaming, while the iPhone only requires one swipe. Although the difference was only a fraction of a second, it was enough for the iPhone 14 Pro Max to catch up with the Samsung device.
In the past, Apple smartphones have consistently led the first round for almost three and a half years, but it looks like the Galaxy S23 Ultra has changed that.
Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra vs iPhone 14 Pro Max performance
According to a recent report, it is difficult to compare both the phones in terms of processor as each comes with a chip that claims to be the best in its respective segment. The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is powered by a special version of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip that has been specially designed for the device. The iPhone 14 Pro Max, on the other hand, is powered by the A16 Bionic. Both the chips on Android and iOS should be at the top of the heap, and from what we could see, they handled whatever was thrown at them with ease.
