Luckily for Potterheads, talks are rumored to be moving forward and Rowling may join the project as a producer. If and when such business moves forward, WBD will try to get a writer on board for the show. According to an earlier Bloomberg report, the TV series will consist of seven seasons that will be based on one of the books in the series.

Now, after the Discovery acquisition, David Zaslav, CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD), has highlighted the company’s orientation towards exploring the future potential of the Harry Potter franchise. The CEO is also in talks with JK Rowling and is keen to bring the author of the historical fantasy series into the new Harry Potter TV series project. Interestingly, JK Rowling still retains creative control over her works and this makes it mandatory for the entertainment company to reach an agreement with the author (via Deadline).
