While the top spot has again been retained by Vivo’s flagship, the X90 Pro+, most of the other smartphones in this month’s list are powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. Many new phones have also managed to make it to the top ten spots this time. On that note, let’s take a look at the best performing phones as per AnTuTu benchmark for the month of January 2023.
1. Vivo X90 Pro+
Score: 1,283,893

Coming out on top is the Vivo X90 Pro+ which has managed to retain its position as the best performing Android smartphone on the AnTuTu benchmark for January 2023 since last month. Packing in the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC is paired with Vivo’s custom V2 chip. The X90 Pro+ doesn’t hold back when it comes to high-intensity tasks like running ultra-heavy graphical games or multitasking between dozens of apps.
Apart from the performance, the Vivo X90 Pro+ is better in the camera department as well. The large raised camera housing at the back houses the quadruple setup that houses a 1-inch 50MP IMX989 primary sensor, 50MP IMX758 portrait sensor, 48MP ultrawide sensor, and 64MP telephoto sensor. The cameras are specially tuned in collaboration with Zeiss for better images and videos during the night. Upfront, the handset flaunts a 6.78-inch curved QHD+ AMOLED panel with 120Hz refresh rate and 1800 nits peak brightness. The smartphone packs a 4,700mAh battery to keep things going.
2. IQOO 11

The vanilla iQOO 11 has managed to replace its sibling iQOO 11 Pro from last month to reach the second spot on the AnTuTu list for January 2023. Like the Vivo X90 Pro+, the iQOO too packs the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and V2 chip duo that work together to deliver impressive performance and photography capabilities. Furthermore, a large vapor chamber inside the iQOO 11 helps the device maintain a balanced temperature during heavy workloads.
As for the rest of the specifications, the iQOO sports a 6.78-inch 2K AMOLED LTPO 4.0 display with 120Hz refresh rate, triple rear camera setup with 50MP primary sensor, 8MP ultra-wide lens, and 13MP 2x telephoto. cameras, a 16MP selfie shooter, and a 5,000mAh battery with 120W fast charging. 3. Lenovo Legion Y70

Redmi K50 Ultra has moved up from the seventh position to the fourth position in the AnTuTu benchmark top performing Android smartphones list for January 2023. Notable 6.67-inch 2K+ AMOLED display with 144Hz refresh rate and Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset is paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
Also known as the Redmi K50 Extreme Edition in China, the device doesn’t miss out on the optics as well, featuring an OIS-enabled 108MP primary camera and a 20MP selfie snapper. Running under the hood is a 5,000mAh battery with up to 120W fast charging support that can juice up the phone from 0 to 100 percent in just 19 minutes.
5. Asus Zenfone 9

ASUS Zenfone 9 has once again managed to make its presence felt in the AnTuTu benchmark’s top-performing Android smartphones list. Like many of the handsets in this list, the ZenFone 9 packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset which is paired with a cooling system that helps the processor deliver consistent performance for long periods of time.
Sporting a compact 5.9-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, the Zenfone 9 is a great option for those who want a performance-oriented device that can easily fit in their palms. The phone comes with a gimbal-like stabilization system on its dual rear cameras that consist of a 50MP primary sensor and a 12MP ultra-wide angle lens. ASUS has also gone ahead and fitted a 3.5mm headphone jack on the Zenfone 9, which is quite a rarity in high-end smartphones these days. 8. IQOO Neo 7

iQOO Neo 7 is surprisingly the only smartphone in this list to carry a MediaTek processor, which is the Dimensity 9000+. The smartphone should not be confused with the Indian variant that is launching on February 16 with the Dimensity 8200 SoC.
As for the positioning, the Neo 7 has managed to retain its position from last month’s benchmark. 9. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4

The foldable features a 6.2-inch HD+ cover display with a 7.6-inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED inner display. Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 chipset paired with Adreno GPU. With 12GB of RAM, the Galaxy Z Fold4 should be able to handle any task with ease, be it running graphics-intensive games, recording high-resolution videos, or editing edits.
The Galaxy Z Fol4 also delivers exceptional results with its 50MP primary camera, 12MP ultra-wide lens and 10MP telephoto sensor. Running the show is a 4,400mAh battery with 25W wired and 15W wireless charging support.
10. Xiaomi 12 Pro

Occupying the tenth spot on the AnTuTu list for January 2023 is Xiaomi’s flagship, the Xiaomi 12 Pro. Running on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, the handset packs 50MP triple rear cameras on each lens consisting of a primary sensor, an ultra-wide angle lens and a 2x optical zoom telephoto camera. Upfront, there is a 6.73-inch curved LTPO AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and 1500 nits peak brightness. The Xiaomi 12 Pro is fueled by a 4,600mAh battery with 120W wired and 50W wireless charging support.
