OnePlus 11 5G is a return of sorts for the company. Not only do we see a return to some classic features such as the Alert Slider. However, one big returnee to the fold is Hasselblad. The Swedish company is a renowned name in the world of photography, and they lent their expertise to the OnePlus 9 series. With the OnePlus 11 5G, Hasselblad is back to make smartphone photography even better!
Better at night!
There is a triple camera setup at the back of the phone, with a 50MP primary camera. However, it’s the larger 1/1.56-inch that makes the biggest difference. You see, a larger sensor means that the smartphone is able to make the most of the 50MP Sony IMX890 camera sensor. This, combined with the large f/1.8 aperture lens, allows more light to be processed. This is very important when taking pictures in low-light conditions, where you need to process as much light as possible to take brighter pictures and videos.
All this is again supported by the Optical Image Stabilizer (OIS). This helps stabilize the camera while taking pictures. This ensures that images and videos are super sharp even in low light conditions!
Capture More!
The main camera is assisted by a 48MP unit with a 115-degree ultra-wide lens. This lens is very useful when shooting landscapes as it provides a large field of view. This ensures that you capture more views. It’s also extremely useful when taking group photos because you and all your friends don’t have to squeeze just to fit into the frame. But the OnePlus 11 5G does more than just add a wide-angle lens to the standard camera. You get a large 1.2-inch sensor which ensures better and clearer pictures even in low light conditions. Furthermore, users can take HDR photos and use the lens to take macro shots.
perfect picture
Lastly, there is a 32MP portrait tele lens with autofocus. Not only does it offer 2x optical zoom, but it takes cues from DSLR cameras and brings features like depth-tracking, natural bokeh and light flare effects. In fact, this sensor has been benchmarked against Hasselblad optical standards to achieve portrait image perfection. As a result, the OnePlus 11 5G is able to emulate portraits captured by professionals using a real Hasselblad camera fitted with XCD 30mm and 65mm lenses.
clever picture
Hasselblad’s insight doesn’t stop there. The two companies have come together to better understand what natural colors really are and then reproduce the same in mobile photography. This is made possible by Natural Color Calibration, which provides industry-leading color science. There is also an additional 13-channel multi-spectral sensor for light color detection. It helps to better read the colors of the light received by the sensor when taking a photo through a comprehensive spectral analysis of the light. This helps to remove any color bias created by the surrounding light. Overall, this helps ensure more natural-looking photos that accurately reflect the shooting conditions.
from the point of view of professionals
Of course, the OnePlus 11 5G also gives users a chance to step into the shoes of master photographers and take pictures the same way. OnePlus and Hasselblad ambassadors have co-developed three unique color styles that they use when they take pictures. For portrait imaging, we have the Serenity by Yin Chao. When photographing humanity or cultural photography, we have Radiance by Ben Thomas. Finally, for landscape paintings, we have Emerald by David Pesken.
wow with video
Of course, don’t think that the OnePlus 11 5G doesn’t take videography into account. The smartphone supports AI Highlight video mode. It aims to make it easier to take HDR video in low or uneven lighting conditions. The technology works in the background to balance the light contrast between the foreground, background and subject for more uniform lighting. It also minimizes the negative effects of short or long exposure. With this mode, users can expect brighter videos with faster focus. They’ll also see higher contrast, clearer visuals as well as more vibrant colors.
