color changing apple watch
According to Patently Apple, which initially spotted it, the US Patent and Trademark Office formally granted Apple a patent for a fabric Apple Watch band with an electrochromic feature. The band features color-adjustable elements that allow the user to change the color scheme and design across three different band zones for a customizable appearance specific to the user. Additionally, those who are fashion conscious will be able to coordinate the color scheme of their watch band with their clothes.

The report states that a user may want a watch band in a certain color, for example, based on the user’s choice of clothing, other accessories to wear, the user’s environment, or other preference. Some of the watches already in the market allow the user to take off and change the watch band to make the watch more unique. But this means that the user has to have a separate watch band for each color or set of colors that they want.
Unlike conventional watches, each of the watch bands described in the patent may have color controls that can be changed. This means that a single band can show a wide variety of colors and color combinations.
Some other features of the color changing band
The adjustable-color watch band can also be used to convey information to the user. For example, a watch’s electronic system may adjust color to provide information to the user. The color-adjustable elements of the watch band can be arranged and controlled separately in a way to show specific icons, shapes and/or text by illuminating selected elements in a specific way. As a result, the color-changing features of the watch can be taken advantage of to provide visual information from the watch to the user.
Meanwhile, it should be noted that the new Apple Watch band is just on paper, and we are not sure if the company could unveil a new Apple Watch with a color-changing band. Recently, a report said that the company is planning to unveil a new Apple Watch Ultra model in 2024 with a bigger display and new screen technology.
