Amazon Echo Dot 5th Gen: Price in India, Availability
The Amazon Echo Dot 5th Gen price in India has been set at Rs 5,499, but will be available till March 4 at a starting price of Rs 4,999. The speaker can be purchased through a select range of online and offline third-party multi-brand retail stores such as Croma and Reliance Digital along with Amazon’s own e-commerce portal.
Key Features of Amazon Echo Dot 5th Gen
In terms of what’s new, the company claims the Amazon Echo Dot 5th Gen is the “best sounding” version of its Dot range. As per reports, while the 4th Gen Echo Dot offered 1.6-inch drivers for its speakers, the 5th Gen upgraded to 1.73-inch drivers, which improves the overall audio delivery. Without offering technical details, Amazon says in its media release that the speaker will offer “clearer vocals and double the bass than previous generations.”
The other key feature on the Amazon Echo Dot 5th Gen is what the company is calling ‘ultrasound motion detection’, a feature that will allow the speaker to measure motion around it and gestures thanks largely to an integrated accelerometer. This will help the speaker set up automation actions such as turning on the bedroom lights when movement is detected inside the bedroom. It will also recognize more taps and gestures to control music, alarms and more.
Lastly, the Alexa-powered speaker will continue to offer a digital clock, but with more detailed information displayed on it. There’s also an ambient temperature sensor, which can read the temperature of a room, and perform scheduled actions based on the temperature.
