Xiaomi 12 Pro Android 13 Upgrade: How to Update
It is interesting to note that the Xiaomi 12 Pro (Review) was set to receive MIUI 14 based on Android 13 within the first quarter of the year, and Xiaomi has now managed to stick to its promised timeline. The update comes nearly six months after Google’s first stable rollout of Android 13 on its Pixel devices, which usually marks the start of software upgrade rollouts for all other Android smartphone brands.

To get the update, you can simply follow these steps:
- Access the Settings menu on your Xiaomi 12 Pro
- Scroll down to the ‘About phone section’
- Under this, select ‘MIUI Version’. This will show the software version currently installed on your phone
- Select ‘Check for Software Update’ from this menu. This should display MIUI 14 version
- Tap on Download and Install and from here follow the on-screen instructions
As is the case with every software upgrade, make sure you have a backup of all your data and necessary content, just in case, to ensure that there is no accidental loss of information. Other smartphones that will be getting the MIUI 14 based Android 13 upgrade within the first quarter include Xiaomi 13 Pro, 11 Ultra, 11T Pro, 11X Pro, 11X, 11 Lite NE 5G, Redmi Note 12 Pro and Pro+ 5G, 11 Prime . 5G and K50i 5G.

Xiaomi 12 Pro was launched in India on April 27 last year in two variants for Rs 62,999 and Rs 66,999. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC with 8GB and 12GB RAM variants and 256GB of internal storage. It features a 6.73-inch AMOLED 2K+ 120Hz display with Dolby Vision and HDR10+ certification. It also has three 50MP rear cameras, which include 2x optical zoom and 4K 60fps video recording capability.
