To power its devices, South Korean tech giant Samsung uses its own developed software system, One UI, on top of Android OS, and the latest and most talked about theme among Samsung Galaxy users is One UI 6.0, which is based on Android OS. Based on Android 14.
Samsung extended the period for providing firmware updates to two to three years and then went further by promising to provide select devices with four major OS upgrades during that time. Samsung hasn’t said when the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 update will arrive, but if the release timeline for Android 13 is any indicator, the next big OS upgrade should hit some Galaxy devices before the end of 2023.

The following Samsung phones and tablets will no longer receive any major OS updates after Android 13, but they will still receive security updates in the near future.
On the other hand, the recent flagships including Samsung Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra are expected to be the first to get Android 14 with One UI 6.0, followed by older S-series devices and the upcoming Galaxy Z. Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5. One UI 5.1.1 can be preinstalled on the foldable smartphones.
