Samsung Galaxy S23 FE canceled in favor of new foldable phone, new tip suggests

No Samsung Galaxy S23 FE, the new tri-fold smartphone is coming soon

According to a tweet by tipster Yogesh Brar, Samsung is not currently developing the Galaxy S23 FE, contrary to recent rumors that suggested the device is under active development and will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. Instead, the company is reportedly working on an improved version of its Z series of foldable phones. This new line is expected to include the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5, which will be released later this year.

Furthermore, the tweet mentions that Samsung is working on a tri-fold phone that will fold like a book. This isn’t the first time we’ve heard of the concept, as Samsung has been rumored to be working on a dual-hinged Galaxy Z Fold successor since 2018. ,

The double-folding design of the tri-fold phone is likely to resemble a smaller tablet when folded with a larger display than the Galaxy Z Fold 4. Other phone makers have attempted to bring similar designs to market, but the challenge has been to deliver a device with both an inside and outside folding mechanism. Samsung has made some progress in this area and earlier this year at CES demonstrated a prototype it called the “Flex In & Out” display platform.

While foldable displays in the past weren’t as durable, Samsung’s continued efforts to push the boundaries of foldable phones are exciting. This shows that the company sees the form factor as the future of smartphones and is constantly pushing the boundaries to deliver products in the near future.
