The Gogoro 2 and Gogoro 2 Plus premium electric scooters approved in India will get Gogoro’s battery-swapping technology (via ZigWheels). The company is keen to establish its battery swapping technology in the country and is testing its facilities. Swappable batteries reduce turnaround time to a few minutes, such as filling a vehicle’s fuel tank at a fuel pump. Typically, charging a battery can take anywhere from 30-40 minutes to 3-5 hours depending on the rate of charging.

Homologation documents for the Gogoro 2 and Gogoro 2 Plus premium electric scooters reveal that the EVs will claim an IDC-certified range of 85km and 94km. The Gogoro 2 gets a higher power rating on its motor at 7.2kW compared to the Gogoro 2 Plus’s 6.4kW. According to the leaked homologation documents, the gross weight of the Gogoro 2 and Gogoro 2 Plus is 273 kg. That said, the company is yet to reveal the official specifications of the electric scooter and the numbers are slightly different as compared to the existing data on the electric scooter.

Both the Gogoro electric scooters are expected to get a conventional set of switchgear and a negative LCD digital display for the driver’s instrumentation. The scooter may also get ABS for its braking system as it is already available on the international variant. Other modern features like LED lighting are also expected.

Nothing has been said about the expected price of the electric scooter.
