JioCinema becomes most downloaded app as TATA IPL 2023 begins
JioCinema acquires official digital broadcast rights for Indian Premier League 2023 after spending 23,000 crores over Rs. Tata IPL 2023 matches are being streamed for free on JioCinema, much like the FIFA World Cup that was streamed on the same platform last year.

Figures show that the watch was watched by over 60 million unique viewers, and over 16 million viewers were watching the match live simultaneously. Total match views also peaked at over 500 million viewers, the highest ever for sporting events on a digital platform.
In comparison, YouTube which is a popular streaming service has achieved a monthly viewership of 514 million. Thus the single day viewership on JioCinema seems to be dwarfing the monthly viewership of YouTube. JioCinema was also successful during the FIFA World Cup 2022. On the last day, JioCinema reportedly saw The final match played between Argentina and France was watched by 32 million viewers.
