What is ChatGPT Bug Bounty Program?
OpenAI says that the bug bounty program is a way for them to thank and reward security researchers who help keep the company’s technology and the company itself secure. As a way to encourage testing and show our appreciation, the company will award cash prizes based on how severe and critical the issues were. Rewards range from $200 for minor discoveries to $20,000 for breakthrough discoveries.
OpenAI said it has teamed up with Bugcrowd, a leading bug bounty platform, to handle the submission and bounty process. This is to make sure everyone has an easy time participating. On the Bug Bounty Program page, you can find the rules and guidelines for how to participate.
ChatGPT bug leaked private conversations
The ChatGPT privacy bug came to light last month when some Reddit and Twitter users started posting screenshots of other users’ chat titles on the app. In ChatGPT’s chat history section, chat titles appeared and listed the main question of each chat session a user had with the app.
But later, Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, said that ChatGPT had major problems due to a bug in an open source library. The company later released a fix for the bug.
