Dell Alienware m18, x16 R1, Inspiron 16 series laptops launched in India: Price, Specifications, Availability

Alongside the Alienware duo are two generic laptops from Dell’s workhorse Inspiron series – the Inspiron 16 and 16 2-in-1.

Alienware M18, X16 R1, Inspiron 16: Price and availability in India

The Alienware M18 and X16 R1 are priced on the higher side, as expected, just like any other Alienware laptop. The M18 can be had in multiple configurations, with prices starting from Rs.3,59,990 onwards. Meanwhile, the configuration of the x16 R1 starts at Rs 3,79,990 – both the laptops are available from today across all single and multi-brand online and offline retail outlets in India.

Dell Inspiron 16 and 16 2-in-1 are priced in India at Rs 77,990 and Rs 96,990. Both the mainstream laptops will be available from April 14 across all the stores mentioned above.

Key Features and Specifications

Starting with the Alienware M18, the laptop offers four processor options ranging from the 14-core Intel Core i7-13650HX all the way up to the 24-core Intel Core i9-13980HX. These are combined with five GPU options, which range from the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4050 with 6GB of GDDR6 graphics to the RTX 4090 with 16GB of GDDR6. While this combination is rated for 175W power throughput, Dell says the laptop can be overclocked to up to 250W throughput via the onboard software Command Center.

This is combined with two display options – an 18-inch Quad HD+ panel with 165Hz refresh rate, 3ms response time, 100 percent sRGB color gamut coverage, and both Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync support; and another 18-inch panel with Full HD+ resolution and 480Hz refresh rate. Rest of the specifications are same as before. The laptop can also be configured with 16GB, 32GB or 64GB of DDR5 memory, while storage options range from 256GB up to 9TB of NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD – the latter made possible in four PCIe SSD configurations.

Other key features include low-profile CherryMX keys with 1.8mm of travel and anti-wobble balance, 26.7mm width featuring the new Legend 3.0 design, and Cryo-Tech cooling technology with four fans, seven copper heat pipes, both Steam chambers are included for. Gallium-silicon thermal interface material for the CPU and GPU, and additional thermal absorption. All this is powered by a 97Wh battery.

Alienware x16 R1

The Alienware x16 R1 laptop offers a sleek design, coupled with a similar layout of ports on the rear, flanked by fan vents and RGB LED lighting. The laptop has a full-metal body, and comes with six speakers including two down-firing woofers – all of which have been co-developed with Dolby.

The AlienFX RGB LED custom lighting configuration extends to the trackpad on this laptop, while the Cryo-Tech cooling and CherryMX keyboard remain the same as above. Alienware also advertises a power adapter that is 25 percent lighter and 46 percent smaller than older versions.

In terms of core specifications, the laptop offers three 16-inch display options – two Quad HD+ variants with 165Hz or 240Hz refresh rate, and one Full HD+ variant with 480Hz refresh rate. All options offer 100 percent DCI-P3 color gamut coverage, and support for both Nvidia G-Sync and AMD FreeSync.

The five GPU options remain the same, but there are three processor options, ranging from the i7-13620H to the i9-13900HK. Storage options for the PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD range from 256GB to 4TB, while users can configure it with either 16GB or 32GB of DDR5 memory. The Alienware M16 R1 offers HD webcam instead of Full HD webcam. It also houses a 90W battery, with options between a 240W or 330W power adapter, depending on your laptop’s configuration. The thickness of the laptop is 18.6mm.

Inspiron 16, 16 2-in-1

Dell Inspiron 16 5630 is powered by 13th generation Intel Core i7-1360P processor with Intel Iris Xe graphics. You get a 16-inch Full HD+ 16:10 display along with 16GB LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB M.2 NVMe SSD. There is also a backlit keyboard, Wi-Fi 6E support, 54Wh battery, and 65W charging adapter.

The Inspiron 16 2-in-1 7630 laptop has the same processor choice, but includes the GeForce MX550 2GB GDDR6 GPU with discrete graphics options as well as the Core i5 variant. You get two 16-inch touchscreen display options, including a Full HD+ 16:10 version and an OLED 4K option. RAM and storage options include 8GB or 16GB of LPDDR5 memory and up to 512GB of SSD storage. There is also a Full HD webcam, Wi-Fi 6E, backlit keyboard, and an 86Wh battery with 65W USB-C charging adapter.
