Route, construction details and status

The Faridabad–Noida–Ghaziabad Expressway, also known as the FNG Expressway, is a 56 km under-construction expressway to boost road connectivity in the National Capital Region (NCR). The six-lane expressway, which is expandable to eight lanes, will connect Faridabad (Haryana) to Noida and Ghaziabad (Uttar Pradesh). Once operational, the expressway will reduce travel time from Faridabad to Ghaziabad via Noida and Greater Noida by up to 30 minutes.

FNG Expressway: Construction Details

The Haryana government prepared a draft for the construction of the FNG Expressway. As soon as the approval is received, the government will start the DPR and tender process. According to the master plan, the expressway will start from Noida. Around 70% of the construction work in Noida has been completed by the Noida Authority.

The FNG Expressway, under construction since 2018, has been designed by IIT Roorkee. About 250 acres of land will be acquired for the expressway project in Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.

FNG Expressway: Route

The Faridabad–Noida–Ghaziabad Expressway is part of National Expressway 2 or Eastern Peripheral Expressway.

The 56 km FNG Expressway will cover 28.1 km in Faridabad, 8 km in Noida and 20 km in Greater Noida. The route will start from Greater Faridabad and enter Lalpur village. The 700 meter bridge will connect Noida and Faridabad. A 5.6 kilometer long elevated road will be constructed from Noida to Sector 98 and 143. Apart from this, a service road will also be built on the route.

In addition, there are plans to connect the FNG Expressway with the upcoming Delhi-Dehradun Expressway being developed by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).

Noida

The route will connect Delhi Meerut Expressway or National Expressway 3 near Rahul Vihar via Sectors 121, 122, 140 and 150 in Noida to Sector 168 (near Chhaproli Khadar) and will merge with the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, Yamuna Bridging on and Chuck Mangroli.

Ghaziabad

It will connect National Highway 34 (near Hindon Vihar and Arya Nagar) to Delhi-Meerut Expressway or National Expressway 3 (near Rahul Vihar).

Faridabad

The route will connect Chak Mangroli Bridge with the DFC corridor to Shahpur, where it will connect to the Faridabad Bypass Expressway (part of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway project, connecting the FNG Expressway to the Sohna-Gurgaon-Sohna Elevated Corridor).

FNG Expressway: Real Estate Impact

Once operational, the FNG Expressway will transform the urban landscape of the region. Several areas of Noida, Greater Noida and Faridabad will be benefited from the upcoming expressway project. This is expected to increase connectivity in several areas including Sectors 120, 121, 122, 140 and 150 in Noida and Sector 66 to Sector 89 in Faridabad. People will get affordable housing options to buy or rent. Leading developers and builders have come up with several housing projects around the FNG Expressway area. In addition, the FNG Expressway is expected to boost commercial development along the route. Also, connectivity to Noida International Airport or Jewar Airport will improve.
