oppo rollable phone
The Oppo rollable phone has a distinctive candy bar design in outlook. At the back, you can see the rear camera module and an LED flash. The volume rocker and power button are on the right spine. The front of the phone is flat with squared edges. We do not see a front camera sensor which means it could be housed within the screen. Type-C port and speaker grilles can be found at the bottom.
Now coming to the point, the rollable phone will probably extend from the right edge but chances are, the device rolls from both the sides and the screen stretches in two directions as the screen appears to be coming out from both the sides. There will be a specific touchpoint, or task, that, when enabled, will expand the screen. Since the design is still in the patent stage, we are not sure if there will be a commercial phone with a similar design.
The Oppo Rollable phone has been listed on China’s certification site China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA). The patent was filed back in December 2021 and was approved on April 14 this year.
