New Apple 15-inch MacBook Air with M2-like chip to be launched at WWDC in June: Report

Test logs suggest that Apple is getting ready to release a laptop with the same processor as the current model, but a larger, higher-resolution screen. This model is likely the 15-inch MacBook Air that Apple plans to release this year.

Like the existing M2, the chip in the upcoming laptop has eight main working cores and ten graphics cores. It has the same 8 gigabytes of memory as the current MacBook Air. The CPU still has four cores for higher speed and four cores for lower power usage. The report states that the version of the Mac operating system that is being tested on the Mac is macOS 14.

In addition to the larger MacBook Air, Apple is also working on bringing a 13-inch Air model, a 24-inch iMac, and a basic 13-inch MacBook Pro. However, it is not certain whether the company will introduce any of these during the WWDC event.

Apple WWDC event: what to expect

Apple is expected to reveal several new products and updates during the upcoming WWDC 2023 event. These include a mixed-reality headset, the xrOS operating system and software development kit, iPadOS 17, macOS 14, a significant watchOS 10 update, and new MacBooks.

As per reports, the upcoming headset will have Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) capabilities, and users will be able to switch between the modes using the Digital Crown-like control knob. It is expected to come equipped with an external battery pack that the user must wear on his waist.
