According to a report in Navbharat Times, the victim was a 16-year-old boy from Baduan. The incident happened when he was talking on the phone and charging it. Meanwhile, the child got electrocuted and fell on the ground. His parents took him to the hospital but the doctors declared him brought dead.
The reason for the explosion of the smartphone is not disclosed
The report did not specify which brand of smartphone it was, except that it was a “big brand”; But, reports say that he had bought an old phone and a smartwatch for Rs 20,000. Now don’t know if there was some swelling in the battery or there was a problem with the hardware of the phone. However, as to how the boy died of electric shock, it could be due to a short circuit. Also, since the phone was old, it could have had some issues that led to the explosion.
Whatever the reason, it is safe to say that we should be careful when plugging our smartphones into the power cord. Smartphones tend to overheat with prolonged use, and exposure to too much heat can be dangerous.
Most companies put a warning on the phone when it detects overheating, and the iPhone also takes time to cool down if the temperature is above the permissible limit. Hence, it is advised to be aware and careful of such situations.
