PS5 Pro reportedly in development, expected to launch in 2024

According to Insider Gaming, the PS5 Pro has a late 2024 release date. Based on the report, PlayStation architect Mark Cerny recently published a patent that suggests Sony is “looking to accelerate ray tracing performance” in games. You can expect the PS5 Pro to deliver better visuals and performance than the standard PS5. Apart from these, Insider Gaming also claims that the PS6 will not launch until at least 2028.

While details about the PS5 Pro are limited, electronics company TCL previously shared some information about the console during a press event. The company had said that the PS5 Pro will offer up to 120 FPS gameplay at 2160p resolution and can also play games in 8K. It was also claimed that the new PS5 Pro chip could be on par with the AMD Radeon RX 7700 XT GPU. Apart from these, some reports suggest that the performance of the PS5 Pro could be much better than the PS5. It may also include advanced ray-tracing, rendering techniques, and reconstruction techniques. If the PS5 Pro is launching next year, we could start seeing some marketing and promotional material as early as 2024.
