[Exclusive] Vivo X Fold 2 and X Flip specifications revealed ahead of April 20 launch

Vivo X Fold 2 will have an 8.03-inch main display that will fold vertically. The display will have 2,160×1,916p resolution, 4:3.5 aspect ratio, and 360 pixels per inch (ppi). The secondary display will be 6.53-inch tall with 21:9 aspect ratio, 2,520×1,080p resolution, and 420ppi. Additionally, the display will support HDR10+ support and 120Hz refresh rate. The handset measures 161.3mm ×73.4mm ×13mm (6-6.7mm when unfolded) and weighs 280 grams.

At its core will be the Snapdragon 8 Gen2 SoC paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB/512GB of UFS 4.0 storage. The X Fold2 will pack a 4,800mAh battery that will fast charge at 120W and 50W using wired and wireless chargers, respectively. In optics, the handset is said to feature triple cameras, which will pack a 50MP primary sensor with f/1.75 aperture, 12MP f/2.0 ultrawide lens with 108-degree field of view (FoV) and 12MP portrait unit . 47mm focal length. For selfies and video calling, the phone will rely on a 16MP front camera. Lastly, the handset will be available in three colours: blue, black and red, and have an in-display fingerprint scanner for security.

On the other hand, the X Flip specifications are more modest. The handset will feature a 6.74-inch AMOLED display with 21:9 aspect ratio, 2,520x1080p resolution, 120Hz refresh, 406ppi, and HDR10+ support. The cover display will be 3 inches tall. The handset will be powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC and come equipped with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB/512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The phone will be fueled by a 4,400mAh battery with 44W fast charging support.

For photography, it houses a 32MP main camera (f/1.75) and a 12MP secondary ultra-wide lens with 108-degree FoV and f/2.2. There will be a 32MP camera in the front for selfie. Like the X Fold 2, the Flip will also come with an in-display fingerprint scanner. The handset will measure 166.4mm×75.3mm×8.2mm and weigh 200 grams. Talking about the color options, Vivo X Flip will come in Purple, Black and Gold shades.

There’s no word yet on the Vivo X Fold2 and X Flip software, but we anticipate the phones will run Android 13 out-of-the-box. The design of the smartphone is likely to be similar to the existing foldable and flip smartphones in the market. That said, the Vivo X Fold 2 is said to come in a more compact and slimmer form factor than its predecessor, the X Fold. This is the only information we can provide at this time.
