Employees’ Pension Fund Organization (EPFO) on March 28, 2023 fixed 8.15% interest on provident fund (PF) amount for the financial year 2022-23 (FY23). The interest will be officially notified in the official gazette after approval from the finance ministry. After this the interest will come in your PF account.
Your PF (Provident Fund) account number is the key to know all the details about your pension fund. If you are not already aware of it, and are not able to track your EPF account, there are several ways to know your PF account number.
check your salary slip

Your salary slip will mention your PF account number as a certain part of your salary is deducted as monthly contribution to your PF account.
ask your employer
You can ask for your PF number from your current employer. Note that your PF number will be mentioned in your salary slip and your employer will be able to tell you your PF ID only if you are an EPF subscriber.

Use your UAN login
Your UAN is the master key to unlock all the details related to PF. If you have an active UAN, you can know your PF ID by logging into your account through UAN login. learn about UAN login in our guide on the subject.
If you know your UAN, here’s how to check your PF number on your EPF passbook:
step 1: Visit the following page:
https://www.epfindia.gov.in/site_en/index.php

step 2: You will be asked to enter your UAN, Password and Captcha. Then click on ”.log in‘ button.

step 3: On the home page, you will be able to see the balance in your PF account and the respective share made by you and your employer.

step 4: At the top of the screen, you will have the option passport, Click on it.

Step 5: Now, you will have the option of smake selection pf number You want to download passbook. If you have more than one PF number, all of them will be displayed on the page.

Visit EPFO Office
If none of the above methods work, then visit the nearest EPFO branch to know your PF number. For this information, you have to fill a form providing all the personal and official details.

Important Points: PF Number and UAN
Your PF number is not the same as your UAN. PF number is a 22 digit alphanumeric number which is given to every employee in the company providing PF benefits. On the other hand, UAN or Universal Account Number is a 12 digit umbrella ID, allotted by EPFO to all eligible employees. A member can have multiple PF numbers but only one UAN.
